Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor

Lyra (she/her/hers) is passionate about helping people recognize and leverage their strengths and natural abilities to live with purpose and meaning in their lives. She works with individuals and couples helping them move from distress and despair to healthy functioning and better connection. Lyra creates a supportive therapeutic relationship and her clients are able to comfortably engage in an authentic therapy process.

Lyra’s approach to therapy is trauma-informed, client-centered, LGBTQI+ affirming, and strengths-based. Lyra utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions as well as existential and mindfulness-based interventions. She has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) which forms the base of her relationship work. Lyra has completed the Polaris Insight Center’s training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and participates in ongoing KAP consultation groups through Polaris.

Lyra is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor and holds a certificate in professional counseling studies from the University of Baltimore, a master's in forensic psychology from Argosy University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Salisbury University. Lyra has worked for the past fifteen years in applied behavioral sciences, providing psychotherapy, career coaching, psychological and educational screenings and assessment, and mental health case management services. Lyra has worked with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds including: military service members and Veterans, law enforcement officers, seniors, young adults, members of the LGBTQI+ community, immigrants, and individuals who were involved in the criminal justice system.
