Shantell Pitts, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, offers vital mental health services to individuals throughout the DMV area. She earned her master's degree in social work (MSW) from the S.U.N.Y. Albany School of Social Work in Albany, NY. Her journey began in the community mental health sector, where she dedicated over a decade to providing invaluable mental health support to adults in both Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.

In 2019, Shantell made the transition to private practice, where she has been passionately offering therapeutic services to adolescents and adults ever since. As a therapist, her foremost aim is to cultivate an environment that radiates warmth and safety for all who seek her guidance.

Shantell specializes in working with individuals grappling with various challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship dynamics, identity exploration, and life transitions. She is dedicated to helping clients harness their innate strengths through therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness-based techniques, all tailored to support each individual's unique healing journey.

Central to Shantell's approach is the belief in meeting clients precisely where they are, empowering them with the skills necessary to navigate the obstacles that hinder their quality of life and overall well-being. Her extensive experience spans individual, couples, and group therapy sessions, engaging with a diverse clientele, including military service members, seniors, young adults, members of the LGBTQ community, and individuals involved in the criminal justice system across the DMV area.

Shantell's therapeutic interests encompass a wide range, from sex therapy and creative therapy to the emerging field of psychedelic-assisted therapy. She firmly acknowledges that the therapeutic process is far from one-size-fits-all, underscoring her commitment to providing personalized care.

With a rich training background and a deep understanding of various therapeutic interventions, Shantell is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengthening Family Coping Resources (SFCR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based practices.
