SARA HUGHES
Intern Therapist
My name is Sarah Hughes, and I am an intern therapist here at Healing Practice. I am currently finishing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University, and working toward licensure as a professional counselor. I strive to provide a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space grounded in empathy, anti-oppressive values, and intersectionality. I work with clients across a wide variety of life experiences and challenges, with a particular interest in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals. This comes from both my lived experience as a member of the community and my commitment to providing affirming care.I believe that healing happens not only through insight and reflection but also through embodied awareness and self-connection. My integrative approach engages both cognitive processing and somatic understanding, allowing clients to connect with both mind and body in ways that support deeper healing and growth. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship, where therapist and client bring different but equally important knowledge to the process. Wherever you are in your journey, I look forward to meeting you with care and acceptance.
