SARAH HUGHES
Intern Therapist
My name is Sarah Hughes, and I am an intern therapist at Healing Practice. I am currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The George Washington University and working toward licensure as a professional counselor. I strive to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space grounded in empathy, intersectionality, and anti-oppressive values. I work with individuals across a wide range of life experiences and challenges, with a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQ+ community. I believe healing occurs not only through insight and reflection, but also through embodied awareness and self-connection. To support this, my therapeutic approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with elements of somatic awareness and practice. I have found therapy to be its most enriching when the client’s lived experience and the therapist’s guidance come together as complementary sources of knowledge. Your voice and autonomy are central to this process. I look forward to meeting you in a space of care, curiosity, and respect.
